The Altdorf Band returned the Lost Hammer to it’s resting place in the Booming Peak, and has moved on to new quests in Reikland. However little did they realize that their honesty and bluntness has revealed the exact location of the hammer to Theodosious von Tuchtenhagen and his trusted Gold Wizard Gunther Hemmelmann.
Theodosious is all too familiar with the greenskin activity in the Black Fire Pass, and has gathered his best men for a quick but forceful recovery of the Hammer.
Though the night goblin tribes of the pass, have little interest in the hammer themselves, they do recognize the significance of stabbing the guts of this fat lord, and are well aware of his march towards the peak.
The pass itself has a long history of conflict and casualties, and it is indeed a place where the dead does not rest easy. To this day, rumors persist of the Storm Riders, spectral horsemen who descend from the stormy sky in search of blood and death.
As the forces prepare for battle, dark clouds do gather over the pass. A very bad omen indeed.
Theodosious deploy by the arcane ruin. Lord Smogg takes the Morr zone and Zurgash da Noiz-less deploy by the village.
Lord Smogg’s battleline is formed up of a main unit of skeletons with a smaller support unit behind including a necromancer. By the garden of moor, a unit of skeletons, and by the forest, a spirit host and some wolf riders. By the river are spirit hosts and hexwraiths.
The imperial line include terrible demigryphons, some swordsmen and handgunner detatchements and a delayed unit of greatswords I belive.
Goblins impress with a massive unit of 100 goblins by the house. Towards the undead they deploy wolf riders and squeek riders.
Goblins realise after close encounter with the undead forces that they are no match for their ethereal creatures and flee back. Demigryphons move forward in a guarded manner, and are bombarded with spells.
The main of the emperial forces give up on taking the Booming peak and turn to face the undead forces instead.
Skeletons and Zombies charge on the swordsmen and break them.
A large number of vortex spells from all sides soar over the battlefield, killing many many models.
Goblins move out towards the dragon ogre. Demigryphons break due to goblin fanatics. Skeletons advance upon the greatswords. The empirial death wizard cast a large purple sun of xereus that kills some 20 goblins and some characters and the already wounded dragon ogre. Lord Smogg then charge the greatswords where the wizards are hiding, and breaks the unit, killing them all.
Goblins move into the booming peak, and the undead forces advance on the peak, finally reaching it in a charge in turn 6 with some 20 remaining skeletons and their heros.
The undead manage to win combat, and break the goblins, who are destroyed as they are trapped inside the booming peak. Awarding a victory to Lord Smogg.
Lord Smogg passed the defiled dwarf statues. He barely glanced at them as he went to the resting place of Stronnomir. He kneeled down and picked up the ancient hammer, knowing all to well of the curse that rested upon it. Sounds could still be heard from the booming peak, but over the next many hours they took a more eerie nature, and it was as if all the dead of the black fire pass listened.
