The Altdorf Band returned the Lost Hammer to it’s resting place in the Booming Peak, and has moved on to new quests in Reikland. However little did they realize that their honesty and bluntness has revealed the exact location of the hammer to Theodosious von Tuchtenhagen and his trusted Gold Wizard Gunther Hemmelmann.
Theodosious is all too familiar with the greenskin activity in the Black Fire Pass, and has gathered his best men for a quick but forceful recovery of the Hammer.
Though the night goblin tribes of the pass, have little interest in the hammer themselves, they do recognize the significance of stabbing the guts of this fat lord, and are well aware of his march towards the peak.
The pass itself has a long history of conflict and casualties, and it is indeed a place where the dead does not rest easy. To this day, rumors persist of the Storm Riders, spectral horsemen who descend from the stormy sky in search of blood and death.
As Theodosious men advance, they fall into an ambush set up by Zurgash da Noiz-less.
Theodosious deploy in early dawn. This result in some confusion. Nevertheless handgunners deploy by a small house. Behind them a unit of greatswords. Mortar crew is positioned on a small hill and behind the mortar, a unit of swordsmen.
Zurgash deploy archers by a steep hill, further along the path he deploy squeek hoppers, a unit of night goblins and wolf riders.
Wolf riders tries to flank the mortar side. Squeek hoppers jump straight towards the mortar. Night goblins advance on the two hills. Their shaman taking full advantage of the arcane ruin, channeling max each turn.
Theodosious rearrange his imperial forces and change formation a good deal. Handgunners move into the house. Gunther Hemmelmann cast a plague of rust on the night goblins and their shields come in a terrible condition. Swordsmen now face the wolf rider flank.
Zurgash’ wolf riders change their mind and try to go the other way around the house. Squeek hoppers almost reach the mortar. Night goblins advance further towards the emperial line.
Greatswords choose not to charge the squeek hoppers. The hangdunners shoot some goblins, and I belive the Mortar killed a wolf rider and some goblins as well.
Gunther Hemmelmann cast another spell at full power but miscast with disasterous consequences.
Gunther Hemmelmann Miscasting, killing several of his own men and wounding himself.
Squeek hoppers charge the mortar crew. Goblins charge the great swords along with the wolf riders. The shaman cast a vortex that tears through the emperial forces. Greatswords and mortar are both defeated.
Goblins finish off the swordsmen and goblin archers finally take out the last handgunners. In the end it is a victory to Zurgash da Noiz-less
It’s not that I neglected to mention the snotlings on purposes… well actually it was.
