Journal Entry, Grenzstadt.
Finally we are out of Grenzstadt and the domain of the new Graf. As I write this I sit at the bow of a great mechanical achievement. A dwarf Zeppelin Ship! Below us, we can see the dwarf market and hear the cheers from the crowd. Is that the Averland Fansypants watching as well? Now the trip goes towards Karaz-a-Karak where the dwarfs are eager to show off their new wonder. If all goes well, they will drop us off near the site in the border princes. Our past troubles seem to diminish as we rise higher and the city below takes the appearance of fancy toys. Now is the time to look forward. We must reach the site and uncover this great secret, and then Grenzstadt will truly just be a fancy collection of toys. More importantly, there may still be time to stop the coming of the great evil, or at least a chance to vanquish it.
- Marius von Tuchtenhagen
In this episode the Averland Fancypants worked hard to secure their powerbase in Grenzstadt. Frederich von Feschhosen conducted a series of councils ranging from trade to military and nobility. Frederich later also managed to secure the support of the dwarven settlement, but had to swear an oath to recover some lost weapon.
Abdul the ambassador quickly came to enjoy the luxury of the court life and found convenient ways to hide his mutant tail during these meetings. A considerable amount of land was granted to the Halfling Bandits.
Karl Van Hal managed to re-forge his stool into a greatsword and had the great pleasure of burning Hogweed at the stake. Hogweed managed to crack a joke as his last words.
Leopold Schatterman arranged for his wizard tower to be build, and instructed two apprentices in overseeing the matter.
The party became aware that the runestone of heat was missing from the smithy, and tracked it down to the dwarven quarters. Here they attended a ceremony where a great construct was unveiled. The roof of the great workshop parted and an impressive zeppelin ship took to the air. Abdul was less pleased as he through his spyglass noticed that amongst the crew was Marius von Tuchtenhagen and his adventuring party.
As the Averland Fancypants prepared to depart, Abdul and Frederich von Feschhosen decided to remain back in Grenzstadt since adventuring is quite dangerous afterall. Von Feschhosen hired a mercenary and a dwarf engineer to assist the fancypants on their expedition. Karl Van Hal also brought lovely Wanda along for the trip and sponsored her with practical winter clothing.
