Battle of Grenzstadt Scenario
THE BATTLE OF GRENZSTADT
Carrying the Writ of the Emperor, Graf Frederich von Feschosen has gathered a strong force to claim Grenzstadt and enforce the command of the Emperor. The court of von Tutchenhagen are not easely persuaded to give up the city, and the wizard Dagobert Gabor, has as steward of the city rallied the forces. But darkness also stirrs in Grenzstadt, which has long been infiltrated by a dark cult known as the Carnal Conclave. They too stand ready to protect their interests at whatever the cost
The Battlefield represent the market square in Grenzstadt where they main battle takes place.
Terrain and terrain features
Alternate deployment is used.
Defenders deploy first unit.
Attackers gain first turn but may only activate Averland Fancypants models or any units they are part of.
The battle last 6 turns.
The Attackers may elect to extend the battle additional turns, but each additional turn will impose -1 pentalty leadership across the army as darkness falls.
SCENARIO SPECIAL RULES
This scenario introduce the use of Corpse Counters and Gloom Tokens.
Corpse Counters is a pool representing the number of fresh corpses available. A counter will be added for every model slain in either the Army of Fechhosen or the Grenzstadt Garrison.
Gloom Tokens represent evil activites by the Carnal Conclave. Everytime a spell from Lore of Vampires is successfully cast, A Gloom Token is added to the pool. The Grenzstadt Garrison suffer a leadership penalty of 1 per Gloom Token in the pool.
VICTORY CONDITIONS SPECIAL RULES
The winner is calculated using special victory point rules described here.
Each enemy unit that has been destroyed or has fled off the battlefield is worth 1 Victory Point.
Each enemy character that has been destroyed or has fled off the battlefield is worth 1 Victory Point
Attackers: Each enemy unit claimed and alive using Writ of the Emperor is worth 2 Victory Points.
Defenders: Every full 20 zombies remaning at the end of the battle is worth 1 Victory Point.
To claim control of Grenzstadt, the Attackers must score more victory points than the Defenders. Degree of victory or defeat will determine the degree of control the winning force will have of Grenzstadt.
